Volunteering
Brookfield is run by volunteers and you can help!
LOSW Group
The "Last of the Summer Wine" group meet at Brookfield every Wednesday to do maintenance, gardening and any other odd jobs that need doing around the place.
Trappers
Started in mid 2019, Brookfield's predator free project has an ever growing number of trap lines that need to be checked.
Projects
From time to time groups of volunteers take on one-off projects, if you have something in particular you'd like to help out with please get in touch!
Donations
Brookfield operates solely on volunteer effort, you can support Brookfield by making a time or financial contribution.
Donation of goods or funds
Brookfield is always upgrading and improving, below is an indication of donation ideas.
While we appreciate any donations, monetary or physical, but please discuss with the Brookfield team before donating physical things to make sure they are fit for purpose.
For projects such as structures, tables, traps etc. we are happy to discuss adding a plaque or inscription.
Donations, Bequests and Plaques
Donations are always gratefully received from donors.
Brookfield Memorial Plaques - are special plaques in memory of people who have made a substantial contribution to Scouting.
These are placed in the Campfire Circle as a perpetual memorial by their families and friends.
Some people elect to leave a bequest, to make gifts that may not have been possible during their lifetimes.
Scouts New Zealand especially the Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre has benefitted from many generous bequests and gifts over the years and we faithfully respect the wishes of the donors. None more so, than the land on which Brookfield stands, by Miss Mary Crowther.
